What is the difference between the DET-2R-PIR and DET-2R-DT?

Dual technology detectors are recommended for challenging environments with fluctuating temperatures (warehouses, sheds, garages), areas at risk of direct sunlight (conservatories), or rooms with repetitive movements (ceiling fans). For standard indoor residential applications, the PIR-only DET-2R-PIR provides excellent performance with longer battery life.

How does pet tolerance work?

The DET-2R-PIR includes pet tolerance up to 25kg, which uses specialized detection algorithms to distinguish between human movement and smaller animals moving at floor level. The pet tolerance feature can be enabled or disabled wirelessly via the control panel’s two-way radio communication, providing flexibility without requiring physical access to the detector. This allows households with cats, small dogs, and other pets to maintain security without false alarms, while still detecting human intruders moving through the protected space.

How long do the batteries last?

The DET-2R-PIR provides a typical battery life of 5 years using 2 x AA alkaline batteries. What is the difference between SSR mode and Legacy mode?

SSR (Scantronic Secure Radio) mode operates on 868-868.5MHz with advanced two-way communication, true signal encryption, and automatic channel swapping to minimize interference. This mode extends battery life by up to 66% through transmission acknowledgement and enables over-the-air updates and remote configuration. Legacy mode operates on 868.6625MHz for compatibility with older Scantronic alarm panels. How is the DET-2R-PIR installed?
