Does the detector work with pets in the home?

Yes, when properly installed and configured, the Superior MotionProtect Plus Jeweller does not react to pets weighing up to 20kg and below 50cm in height. The detector offers three sensitivity levels: Low (ignores animals up to 50cm), Normal (ignores small dogs up to 35cm), and High (ignores cats up to 25cm). Correct installation at 2.4 metres height and appropriate sensitivity configuration following Ajax guidelines is essential for effective pet immunity. The dual-sensor technology also helps reduce pet-related false alarms.

Can I install multiple MotionProtect Plus detectors near each other?

No, you must maintain a minimum distance of at least 20 centimetres between Superior MotionProtect Plus Jeweller detectors, or between this detector and other MotionProtect Plus models (including MotionProtect Plus Jeweller and Superior MotionProtect Plus Fibra). Installing them closer than 20cm can cause wave interference between the K-band microwave sensors, leading to decreased detection quality or false alarms. This spacing requirement is specific to the Plus models due to their microwave sensors.

What types of false alarms does the microwave sensor prevent?

The K-band microwave sensor specifically filters out thermal interference that commonly triggers PIR-only detectors. The Superior MotionProtect Plus Jeweller requires an Ajax hub running OS Malevich firmware version 2.16 or higher. Compatible hubs include Hub Plus, Hub 2 (2G), Hub 2 (4G), Hub 2 Plus, Superior Hub Hybrid (2G), and Superior Hub Hybrid (4G). The detector is not compatible with the basic Hub, third-party control panels, or ocBridge Plus and uartBridge integration modules. How do I know if the signal strength is adequate?

What are the different alarm reaction modes?

The detector offers three alarm reaction modes: Instant Alarm (the armed detector immediately raises the alarm when triggered after dual-sensor verification), Entry/Exit (allows configurable delays of 5-120 seconds for entering or leaving the premises), and Follower (inherits delays from Entry/Exit detectors but raises immediate alarm when triggered individually).
