FAQ
What detection ranges are available with the Fireray Hub Reflective system?
The system offers flexible detection ranges depending on reflector configuration. With a single reflector, the range is 8 to 50 metres (26 to 164 ft). Using four reflectors extends the range to 50 to 120 metres (164 to 394 ft), making it suitable for very large spaces such as warehouses and aviation hangars.
How does the system prevent nuisance alarms from sunlight?
The Fireray Hub Reflective features Light Cancellation Technology™ that actively compensates for high levels of sunlight and artificial lighting. This technology prevents nuisance alarms in challenging environments such as glass atria in hotels and retail complexes where natural light can be problematic.
How many detectors can be connected to one system controller?
Each Fireray Hub system controller can support up to three Fireray Reflective Detectors. These can be connected using either parallel mode (individually connected) or network mode (connected on a single channel), with a maximum cable length of 100 metres to the furthest detector.
What maintenance advantages does the system offer?
The system enables remote monitoring and testing of detectors without shutting down the protected area, minimising downtime. The Auto-Alignment™ technology reduces manual intervention, whilst contamination compensation handles gradual build-up on optical surfaces. Event logs with time and date stamps provide informed diagnostics for efficient maintenance.
How does the system handle building movement?
Building Movement Tracking™ technology automatically compensates for natural shifts in alignment caused by building movement. This ensures continued reliable operation without requiring frequent manual realignment, particularly important in large structures that may experience thermal expansion or settling.
What certifications and approvals does the system have?
The Fireray Hub Reflective system holds worldwide approvals including EN54-12 and UL268 7th Edition certification. The system is designed to meet local installation standards and can work with both fireproof and non-fireproof cables as required by regional regulations.
