How does accidental press protection work?

Superior Button Jeweller offers two types of accidental press protection in Panic and Mute Fire Alarm modes: Long press protection requires holding the button for more than 1.5 seconds to send an alarm, while Double press protection requires pressing the button twice with a pause of no more than 0.5 seconds between presses. Protection can also be disabled if preferred.
