Summary
The Talentum Intrinsically Safe (IS) IR² Flame Detector is engineered to protect areas where open fires may be expected, detecting almost all flames, including hydrocarbon fires with 4.3 μm emissions and invisible fires such as hydrogen. This detector is sensitive to flickering, low-frequency infra-red radiation emitted by flames during combustion, even if the lens is contaminated by oil, dust, water, vapour, or ice.
Featuring two IR sensors, the IR² Flame Detector responds to different IR wavelengths to distinguish between actual flames and spurious sources of radiation. It uses a combination of filters and signal processing techniques to prevent false alarms from flickering sunlight. The detector offers selectable output options of relay contacts, ensuring adaptability and reliability in various hazardous environments.
