Summary
The Talentum® Flame Detector IR2 is designed to protect areas where open fires may be expected and detects almost all flames, including hydrocarbon fires with 4.3 μm emissions through to invisible fires such as hydrogen. This advanced detector is sensitive to flickering, low frequency infra-red radiation emitted by flames during combustion, even if the lens is contaminated by oil, dust, water, vapour, or ice.
Equipped with two IR sensors, the IR2 Flame Detector responds to different IR wavelengths to effectively discriminate between actual flames and spurious sources of radiation. It employs a combination of filters and signal processing techniques to avoid false alarms from flickering sunlight. The detector offers selectable output options of relay contacts or a 4-20 mA signal as standard, ensuring flexibility and reliability in various applications.
