The kit includes 3x pull cords (ViAC-CPP), 2x cancel plates (ViAC-CNP), 1x over door indicator (ViAC-ODP), installation instruction sheets, device mounting screws, “Assist Call fitted” sticker, and operating instruction cards.
How does the system operate when a pull cord is activated?
When a pull cord is activated, the blue indicator illuminates on that pull cord, buzzers sound and both the cancel plates and over-door indicator flash. After system acknowledgment, the indicators change from flashing to steady illumination with a double beep tone every 15 seconds to reassure the occupant that help is on the way.
What back boxes are required for installation?
The ViAC-ACB-SS components mount onto a 25mm UK single gang back box and are compatible with any “MK” style single back-box over 25mm deep. For cable glands, the back box needs to be 35mm deep, including metal clad surface types and plastic plasterboard liner boxes.
What are the mounting height requirements?
Pull cords should be positioned 800-1000mm from the floor. In toilet areas, the pull cord should be positioned behind the handrail, level with the front of the toilet, with the bottom ring 100mm from the floor. Cancel plates should be placed 1000mm up on the wall.
Can the system be reset remotely?
No, the system can only be reset by pressing one of the physical cancel buttons located in the room. This ensures proper acknowledgment and verification that assistance has been provided.
What cable types and distances are supported?
The system supports PVC or fire rated 2 core 1mm cable up to 500m distance, or Cat5/6 cable with 1 pair 0.22mm up to 50m distance (2 pairs up to 100m). All wiring should comply with BS 7671 (Wiring Regulations).
Is the system compatible with existing Lexicomm systems?
Yes, the ViAC-ACB-SS is compatible with Lexicomm LX228, Lexicomm Network range of disabled refuge and fire telephone systems, as well as AssistCall standalone 4 Zone and 1 Zone controllers.
